WHOSE HUES?

11th December 2021

Macclesfield Library

7.30 pm

Macclesfield-based artist Becca Smith has synaesthesia: she 'sees' music as colour.

This show, we hope, will be a rather different collaboration of live painting and music performance...

Becca is creating a colour palette from a particular mix of hues and shades, shapes and forms which Becca hears in my piano improvisations.

Past and current Patreon supporters will, as I have always promised, be offered a free pass to see the show. It's thanks to their support that I can now begin a new series of live works!

Once, when travelling back from a gig with Field Manual drummer Phil, our conversation turned to stage and studio sound.

The best way to communicate the timbre you are looking for is something everybody understands: food.

Crunchy, appley mids. Beefy low-end. Zesty lemon. Mint.

You'll be surprised how universally understood this is.
